The start of METS 2011 was set under the theme of the Hybrid technolgy. As part of the EU-funded Hymar project STEYR MOTORS was present during the worldwide first conference on Hybrid technology,
Rudolf Mandorfer & Michael Aschaber were present on stage and showed the view and status of STEYR MOTORS on / in the Parallel Hybrid technology. Around 150 guests discussed the possible future directions of the green technology in the Marine Diesel engine world and showed that this topic is up and coming fast!
Straight after the conference the yearly METS exhibition for professionals in the boating business started on November 15th - the first impression STEYR MOTORS was able to collect showed that the company's strategy to further develop its Parallel Hybrid technology for Marine Diesel engines was the right step - numerous visitors were interested in the new development. The combination of lower fuel consumption, noise reduced driving and the comfort of multiple power sources for the different consumers aboard seems the ideal solution.
